Pink House Donates to Breast Cancer Support Fund
On October 30, after a month of fundraising, The Pink House owners Dan and Lois Wray, along with their dedicated staff, presented a check in the amount of $5,080.40 to the Carson Valley Medical Center Hospital Foundation. The fundraising took place throughout national Breast Cancer Awareness Month, for the purpose of launching a patient assistance program specifically for local women facing a breast cancer diagnosis.
"The Pink House believes in supporting organizations in our community,” said Lois, and it seemed fitting to have The Pink House host these events to start building a breast cancer fund.” Such events included a Van Gogh & Vino painting party, two black tie dinners, and raffled a handmade “For the Fighters” quilt, made by Lois. In addition to the proceeds generated from these events, The Pink House employees took it a step further and donated their tips earned during each of the events. An added “match” from the Wrays brought the total amount raised to $5,080.40.
“We can’t thank the Wrays and their staff enough for their generosity and all of the hard work that went in to these events,” says CVMC Hospital Foundation Chair Linda Birdwell. “This is a tremendous start to building support funds for our mothers, daughters, sisters and neighbors.” Appreciation is also extended to the local community for supporting these events.
The funds raised were donated by The Pink House to the CVMC Hospital Foundation to be used for local women facing the many challenges that come with breast cancer diagnosis, treatment, and support. For more information about the Foundation, visit cvmchospital.org/give or call 775.782.1512.
