Carson Valley Medical Center Leadership
Our leadership team is responsible for day-to-day operations of Carson Valley Medical Center and clinics, and they bring a wide variety of talents and expertise to the organization.
These leaders are key to guiding the entire healthcare team at CVMC toward the goals and objectives outlined in the organization's strategic plan, while upholding the vision and values that make CVMC your healthcare provider of choice.
Jeff Prater, MHA, FACHE
Chief Executive Officer
Jeff joined Carson Valley Medical Center in June of 2018. He got his start in healthcare serving as a Hospital Corpsman in the U.S. Navy from 1993 to 2000. Since then, he has worked in a variety of healthcare administrative roles ranging from director of outpatient services, director of radiology, hospital administrator and Chief Executive Officer. Most recently, Jeff was serving as the Administrator of Mt. Edgecumbe Hospital in Sitka, Alaska since 2015.
He received his Bachelor's of Health Sciences degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2001 and his Master's of Health Administration from Montana State University in 2006.
Mark DeMar, MD
Chief of Staff
Dr. Mark DeMar serves as a surgeon at CVMC. He sees patients locally at Sierra Nevada Surgical Associates. He attended the medical school at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. His five-year surgical residency was completed at a Michigan State Residency program.
Robert Silk, MD
Vice Chief of Staff
Dr. Robert Silk serves as a radiologist at CVMC. Dr. Silk attended medical school at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. His residency was completed at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, Calif.
Evan Easley, MD
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Evan Easley practices at CVMC Senior Care and Job's Peak Internal Medicine & Family Practice. He is certified through the American Board of Internal Medicine. He attended medical school at Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, Calif., and served his residency at Kettering Medical Center in Kettering, Ohio.
Director of Operations
Shannon Albert arrived at Carson Valley Medical Center in 2004
having worked previously in communications at AIG VALIC in Sacramento, Calif.
She earned her bachelor's degree in communications and public relations from
Sacramento State University. She is a member of the
Society for Healthcare Market Planning and Development and Association of
Healthcare Philanthropy.An active member of the community, Shannon is an executive board member of the
Business Council of Douglas County, a member of Minden Rotary and is a past
president of both the Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce and Soroptimist International
of Carson Valley. She and her husband have two children who keep them extremely busy with their
school and sports activities.
Linda Lilleboe, MSN, RN
Director of Special Projects
Linda arrived at CVMC in 2005, moving from a hospital in Florida. She started her healthcare career as a CNA, then LPN, then RN before receiving her master's in nursing from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Her CNA experience came in long-term care and acute care hospital environments. Her LPN and RN experience was in hospitals in Oregon, Texas and Florida ranging from med/surg to renal/tele. She transitioned to the business side of healthcare after accepting a position as the liason between utilization review and patient access, later progressing to revenue cycle positions.
Kathy Cocking, MSN, RN
Director of Clinical Services
Kathy Cocking began her "come out of retirement" job at CVMC in June of 2016 after 34 years at Barton Memorial Hospital as the Vice President of Operations. She is fulfilling her long-term dream of living and working in Carson Valley. Kathy received her BSN from Columbia University in New York City and her MSN at California State University, Sacramento. The mother of three young adults and wife to Dennis, she feels blessed to be the Director of Clinical Services at a facility where outstanding, compassionate care is delivered by very gifted individuals.
Gina Zink hails from New Zealand and traveled internationally throughout Europe and the Middle East following school before landing in Australia where she met her husband. In 1997, she and her husband moved to America and Gina joined the Barton team in 2001 as the referral coordinator in their Community Clinic. She moved to CVMC in 2004 as the Special Projects Coordinator, producing schedules, reports and financials for the clinics. She later served as the supervisor of Job's Peak Primary Care and the Topaz Ranch Medical Clinic. She was later promoted to the manager and then director of those clinics and further expanded the clinic operations to eight clinics in six locations, including the CVMC Urgent Care and two rural health clinics which allowed the organization to serve the uninsured and under-insured population of Douglas County. Gina serves on the board of the Family Support Council of Douglas County, whose mission is to provide education, prevention and intervention services to support growth and development of healthy families. She and her husband also own and operate two automotive businesses - one in Lake Tahoe and one in Gardnerville.
