Carson Valley Medical Center is dedicated to the health of our community. We know the value of preventative services and strive to offer you affordable services that can improve your health and quality of life.

Our Community Wellness Program includes:

Community Lab Draws

Affordable lab tests available without a doctor's order or appointment. This service is available for patients 18 and up.  Tests offered through this program include:

  • Wellness Panel $40

Community Wellness Seminar Series

CVMC's providers and specialists offer monthly wellness seminars/workshops on a variety of health topics. Check our e-calendar or call (775) 782-1637 for information on upcoming workshops.  

Diabetes Support Group

Our diabetes support group, facilitated by Leslie McGraw, APRN, is held the first Wednesday of each month at 9:30 am at the Douglas County Community Center. Call 775.782.1637 for more information.

HeartSaver AED CPR Class

Learn CPR and other life-saving techniques at our HeartSaver AED course.  Become proficient in:

  • Adult CPR

  • Child and Infant CPR

  • Using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

  • Adult/Child Choking

  • Infant Choking

Grief & Loss Support Group

CVMC's Vitality for Life program offers weekly support groups for those suffering from grief, loss, anxiety or depression. Contact (775) 782-1599 for more information on upcoming classes.

Men's Cancer Support Group

Facilitated by Reel Recovery's Bob Macias, the men's cancer support group is designed to provide resources, guidance, and medical support to men facing cancer. Meets the first Wednesday of each month in the CVMC Administrative building behind the hospital. 5:30 pm. Contact 775.782.8881 for more information.

Military Veterans

Launched in 2011 by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, connects Veterans, their family members and friends, and other advocates with mental health information, local resources and Veterans' own inspiring stories of recovery. Visitors can learn about the signs of mental health conditions or substance use problems and find sources of support. Visit this resource here.

Addiction and Recovery Services

If you or a loved one are struggling with breaking free of an addiction, resources are available. Douglas Counseling and Supportive Services, located at 1538 Hwy 395, Gardnerville, can be reached by calling 775.782.3671. For seniors, CVMC's Vitality for Life Program offers intensive outpatient mental health counseling.  In addition, you can start your journey to recovery online by visiting AddictionResource.
